Sad news to share

Goodafternoon everybody!

In general, we are doing allright, I think. For now we have better weather to enjoy, which is always nice,

But yesterday we had a sad day. we lost our cat Brodski, who is now playing on the rainbow with his brother Dikkie Dik.
Brodski wasn;t doing so well the last few weeks. Didn;t eat very much, got skinnier and skinnier. Now he often had periods in his life that he didn't eat too much and got a little bit more "streamlined.
But this time it was different.
Then I couldn;t support it anymore and said to Jan we had to go to the vet with him.
Brodski was around 17 years old, so I think the years got to him and I didn;t want him to get really ill and have pain so yesterday afternoon the vet gave him the injection so he could sleep forever.
It is always sad to say goodby to your pet, especially when you had him for so long. But he went quietly, on my lap, and he had a good life with us.
He will be missed, it was a presence in the house and we lost that.
So it is "Goobye Brodski".

Have to close now, typing is a bit hard with tears in my eyes. Can't help myself for it. Oh, it will pass and soon Jan and I will be able to talk again about him and his special character and moments that were full of laughter.

Just a short update

Goodafternoon everybody!

I planned more or less to make a post this weekend, but it didn;t happen.
I am so very lazy at the moment, concerning computering.
I just read at times some of the blogs of my blogging friends, it already is difficult for me to comment on all of them. Sounds aweful, isn;t it?
Well, good news is that my back is almost to normal again, and my hand is healing now, starting to have new skin and the "old"one is almost gone.
So in fact all is going rather well, I am just not in the mood for a lot of computertime, including designing.
I am sorry to let you down, I hope I can make it up to you at some time again.
No download today, should be there next time I'll make a post.
Take care of yourselves, and till soon.

Feel, as if I was on the "penalty"bench LOL!

Goodafternoon everybody!

It took long before I could move around a little bit and sit for a longer time, pffff! My back isn't all completely to normal, but I can do things again, just have to be careful with sudden moves.
But as if it wasn;t enough, just as my back got a bit better, last Sundaynight I had bel.y-trouble, you probably know the "fantastic"feeling of cramps? well, it took about all night before all left my body that had to leave it, hahaha.
And then , on top of it all, Monday late-morning, when I got up, I did put the waterkettle on to make a cup of tea, and how it happened I don;t know, but pouring the water in my mug, didn;t quite go as it should. Meaning I got some real hot water over my left hand! OUCH!
Quickly I cooled it with water for several time, but it kept burning, so I tried my luck at my doctor(who is just 2 minutes away from my house), to see if may be he still was there. I was lucky, he still was and did help me with my hand. First cooled it under water again, then he put on some cream and bandage and told me to come back next morning, so today.
After I came back yesterday from the doctor, some spots on my hand still hurt with burning pain, but after about an hour it calmed down and I didn;t have to take a painkiller.
This morning doctor looked and I didn;t have any blisters, hoorray!
Some fingers partly have  bit different color, have to put on some vaseline for a few days, have to be careful with warm water but it is all okay.
what do you think? Enough, is enough, isn;t it!!!!
I truly hope this second part of the year will be a lot better.

Jan was ever so nice during my backtrouble period. He couldn;t do much to make me feel better, but he tried his best in bringing me things to drink, handing me over all things I couldn;t reach, even did some grocerie shopping! Also did a laundry, some ironing, vacuum cleaning, oh my, even hung up food for the parakeets!

At the moment we have in our country the European championchips women soccer and our girls reached next round after 3 matches!
After this evening we know which team they have to play against, it could be Germany or Sweden. Not the easiest teams, but if they keep their head cool they may win next match. We all cross our finger, of course!

Okay, you are a bit up to date again, so I will finish now. It isn;t good yet to stay at the computer too long yet.
I have a little kit for you, I did make it already before the backtrouble.
I owe you still the clusters for the minikit May from Arlene, but i didn;t get to it, of course. So I give you now the minikit June to play with, and hopefully next time I will have made preview and uploaded Arlene's clusters.
It all is a bit chaotic at the mooment, sorry for that, but it will get better again(at least  hope so ROFL).
To all of you a big thank you for all the uplifting comments, you are just wonderful.
To my closest blog-and email friends:  have to read all your blogposts, will try to do so this week bit by bit and get in touch with you as soon as possible.
Please be a little more patient with me and all will come to normal order again.
Have a wonderful week, stay safe and healthy!

I am still alive

Hello everybody!

just a short notice that from Friday i had serious backtrouble. couldn't almost move up or down or whatever, of course happened Friday afternoon, so couldn;t get to my doctor. I really had quite a lot of pain. Wasn't a happy weekend. Think I have the kind of arthritis or inflammation again. Today went to doctor got pills.
It already is a little bit better today.
so as soon as  can sit normally and for longer time again I will be back.
Don;t worry too much, it just happens every now and then.
Have a wonderful week.

Running behind on blogreading.

Goodmorning everybody!

It is happening every time again. I am so little time at the computer that I read my mail, answer it, perhaps do a few elements on a kit( also nt very often these days) and then go on with other things, as normal housework, spend some time in the garden as soon as it is nice enough weather, do some grocerie shopping, take time to cook dinner, in all taking it rather easy and then blogreading just isn;t done.
Then towards weekend I feel so guilty about it, that i sit down and do the reading to keep up with some of my friends, but it is tough work LOL!
I used to sit for a while at the computer every morning, so  followed the blogs by the day, but now  am spending much less time on the thing, but to be honest, I don;t miss it. Oh, i wouldn;t give it up completely, no way, but less time on it gives me some more time on other things. I even sometimes read again, most of the time when I sit in the garden, it is so quiet and peaceful then, with some singing of birds, sometimes the noise of children voices playing in the garden. It are the neighbours children and you just have to smile when you hear them. They sound so joyful, not crying or shouting out loud, just playing and having fun.

But today I ordered myself to update my blog a little bit. I really don;t have all too much to tell lately, in a way I am happy about it, It means no shocking things are distrubing our life. But sometimes it would be nice to be able to tell something exciting LOL!
I probably will post a bit irregular on the kits and the clusters. It has to do with me, not spending much time at the computr and Arlene has serious trouble with her computer. She would like to have a new one, but at the moment that is a bit difficult, so let us all cross fingers for her that her computer will hold on for a while longer!

This week we had one evening/night with aweful weather. Thunder and lightning, rain, even hailshowers, and it rained so much that the streets looked like little rivers! And at a moment we had coming water out of a pipe that is running in the kitchen over the floor. I just was in the kitchen for something and heard a strange noise. Went looking for it and saw the water blurbing out of the pipe! Quickly put a bucket under it, called for Jan, Jan could open the pipe and let some extra water out of it. It was a pipe coming from the roof, for the central heating. Sounds complicated, but okay, it went on for a moment(because of the storm that was together with the terrible rain), and then calmed down and after i think 20 minutes or so, it calmed down and was as usual.
Was however a bit scary at the moment.
Then next morning sun was shining again, streets were dry again, even the garden here didn;t suffer much from the rain, wind and hail.
Okay, a bit of rain would have been nice, but this was somewhat overdone, hahaha!
Weather will stay nice for today and tomorrow, then temperatures will drop again to just around 20 C, which is a bit low for now.
Weather still cannot stay really steady, we still have some days of high temperatures, then it drops down drastically again and after some days it goes up again to 28-30C. Strange summer behaviour.

Jan has poured me a cup of coffee now, so I will go and drink it as it still is warm and nice.
Here are the clusters from last week's kit, At Grandfather's house. The clusters for the May kit will follow later.
Have a safe and wonderful week!

I have new carpet tiles in my little hall!

Goodafternoon everybody!

Let's talk weather first. I am not all too happy about it. Beginning of the week it was great, but towards weekend temperatures suddenly dropped and we had some cloudy days, till today. We dropped from about 25-28C to just 19C with quite some wind. Only good thing was we had a bit of rain.
But today all looks already a bit brighter. we have still clouds, but also periods with sunshine and temperatures should go up this week to around 23-24C, with less wind and may be a shower of rain here and there.

Yes, Jan has laid some carpet floortiles in our little hall. You know from the ones we had for free. He had to cut some a bit, to make it fit.
The cutting did cause a little bit of problems, because he didn´t have a good knife for it. We had a stanley/knife, but the blade wasn´t sharp enough.Well, somehow he managed to do it anyhow and I am very happy with the new floor now. The carpet we had in it, was really old and used up, this looks fresh and clean again.
One of these days we may be do our little bedroom, and yes, Jan did buy some new blades for the knife, so I hope it will go much better.
Only problem is that we have to take our bed apart, room is too small to shift the bed to another place.
That´s often the trouble when you want to change something, you need to take things apart, or shift it to another place)like closets and so, and those you have to empty, before you can shift them.
It is always the èxtra work`that makes it take a longer time than you really want. Have to take courage in both hands and hope it will go rather smoothly. LOL.

Oh, I was for annual control at hte neurologist for my epilepsie, and I had a new one. Very nice lady, I must say.
As all is about the same, for long time, I am doing quite okay, she suggested that I stay under control with my doctor and if necessary he could always send me to her again.  was happy about it. It is only taking my time and the neurologist´s time, for just 5 minutes to say I am doing okay. They can use the time better for someone else.

My garden is looking great. I have lots of plants blossoming, so it is a happy place now. Once there came in a hollyhock, took ages to grow but this year  have flowers on it and they are in such a gorgeous color!
It is a deeper pink-red color, more towards bordeaux than the photo is showing.
And I always love my heuchera´s. There are many species from them, and great leaf plants, that as extra also have lovely flowering, very delicate.
This is, I think, the species Heuchera Caramel, but I am not completely sure. If you are interested to have one or more in your garden, just look on Google, lots to find about that plant.
You also have them with dark red and brown leaves, or green with little spots etc. etc.
We have now lots of visits of "our"parakeets, they come in every day, so every day I cut up one or two apples and hang the parts in little nets, and they are very happy with it. And sometimes they also get some seed, of course.

I didn;t do much of designing again this week, but still managed to have a kit ready, named At Grandfather's House.
The clusters you will have next week.

Now time for me to make me a sandwich and sit a bit in the sun now that it is shining!
Have a wonderful day and week, take care of yourselves!

So busy with doing almost nothing!

Goodafternoon everybody!

Catchy post title, isn´t it?
But really, a week is flying by, and looking back on it I ask myself: "what did you actually do and achived, my dear?"
And I really don't know. f course there are the usual things that I have done, like the grocerie shopping and a bit of housework(hey, I gave the kitchen floor and hallway a really good cleaning, not just a quick strike with the mop, but really thourough and oh boy, you don;t know what the color of the water was in the bucket afterwards!!!!!)
I did several laundries and some ironing and putting those things in the closet, and I cooked and I went into city centre one afternoon. And some gardening, and a day or two being very quiet in movement because it was really very very warm!!!Then I am sure I did some more but cannot remember, so it wasn;t important, I guess. LOL!

I can handle warm or even hot weather, but it has to stay on for longer than two days. Here it is all the time kind of a rollercoaster. One or two days suddenly up to 30C, then dropping again to may be 24C, then one again to 30C and then (as we have now) not more than just 20C.
The body cannot adjust properly and that makes it difficult. Weather wasn;t bad, of course, but it still is acting a bit crazy and I think it will be going on like that for longer time.

Our garden is flourishing and is full with all kind of things blooming or starting to make buds, so you hardly see any soil anymore(which is a good thing by the way). I spotted some tiny little tomatoes on some of the plants, it will take some weeks before we really will have a "grwon-up tomatoe"on it, but  at least they are coming!

When I was in city centre I stayed rather brave and didn;t spend a lot of money, but I bought a polo t-shirt for Jan for very little and it is soft pink!
Looks like this:
I just love it, it is something different from the always white or blue and it is a happy color!
Also found already another 2 Christmas presents! I know, Christmas seems far away, but I always start early, looking around for possible presents and you have time to find them for a nice price too.
What else interesting I did buy? A new mat for the shower room, it's such a very soft one, very agreable to the feet and it didn't cost much, really was cheap, so a good buy. It was also nice weather, not too warm, so I made a little tour through some streets I haven't been visiting for a long time and then it is nice to see the shops there again, popping in into some, just nosing around, having a good time.

Dear visitors, I think I wrote down about all that there was to tell.
I will soon make us a sandwich and later Jan will go to his volunteering.
I've made his dinner already yesterday afternoon, so it can be warmed up in the oven when he comes home.
And for myself I think I will make potatoe wedges in the oven, with lots of garlic on it and when they are ready i will sprinkle some freshly cut spring onions over them. I will fry a croquette(you know, with ragout in it) and I will have some strawberries with iced sugar and a bit of whipped cream as dessert. I will have a yummie meal hahaha!

Today I have a minikit for you, for the month of May. Yes, still a bit behind, but you know the saying: "better late than never"!
Stay safe, have some good times, remember, little things can also make you feel good for a moment or for a longer time. Just watching a nice program on tv, or listening to a song you really like, or look around you and see the beauty of nature and listen to the birds when they sing out loud. Sounds perhaps

like "heavy stuff", but life is hard and by times really difficult and to be able to handle it, those things can help somewhat to make you feel stronger.
Have a wonderful week.

I was a bit of a busy bee this morniing

Goodafternoon everybody!

This morning I slept a bit later than usual, but never mind. Then after my morning tea(yes, since I have the stomach trouble, I drink less cofee and start the day with tea), I first took something to eat, than a shower and then started the washing machine. In the mean time I took a cup of coffee in the garden, because we have such lovely weather at the moment.
Then I prepared dinner for Jan this evening. Mine is already there, I will eat some left over from yesterday, which is spiced noodles with some chicken and I can take a fried egg with it if it will not be enough. And we both will have some strawberries with cream(and sugar for me too).
Dinner for Jan ready, then I made the bed. I changed the duvets for just a double sheet, because the duvets are too warm at the moment.
Then laundry was ready, so I could hang it out to dry.
Also washed the mugs and some more stuff, and by then I though I earned some computer time to update my blog.
So I was quite a busy bee till now.

Not very much happened actually this week. Oh yes, Jan had his control appointment with his doctor for his liver/stomach. All was well, so happy news. Next one will be in December again.
Gosh, yesterday  walked a lot around LOL. I was up rather early because I woke up by some strange noise. Appeared the neighbours from the appartment above us were having a rebuild or alteration again! There were some guys busy tossing stones and such into a big container from the window of appartment(and that made that noise that woke me up). Well, after I looked through the curtains, and looked to one of the guys that by chance was near the container for a moment) they stopped for a while with it and continued later in the morning. Okay, not best sound but didn;t take too long.
Then when Jan woke up and looked to the container he noticed that there were lots of good carpet floor tiles in there. I already was dressed, so went to the appartment and rang the doorbell. ne of the contractors opened and I asked him, if it would be okay to take some of the tiles out f the container. It was no problem, so Jan and I took out quite a large quantity(they were practically brandnew!) and now we can use them for the little hall and perhaps even for the bedroom! would be great, because the carpet there is really at it's end.
Wow, good deal, having fantastic carpet floortiles for nothing!

After this small adventure  I went for a bit of grocerie shopping, Then I couldn;t find good strawberries(and the ones in our supermarket were much too expensive, really). So after I first made dinner (the noodles, chicken with peanut sauce) so it would be ready when Jan came home I walked to the market. It was great weather, so it was good to be out. I found some strawberries and also bought us a kilo cherries for a really good price and they are yummie!
And I also found already a Christmaspresent for someone.
So all together I think I deserved some "free time"today LOL!

Now i feel i need to eat a little sandwich. So I will do that sitting in the garden, under the parasol(otherwise it will be much too warm in the sun at the moment.)
I have for you the clusters from the In Wonderland kit, made by arlene, of course.
This week we should have fabulous weather, days with temperatures around 26-27C(later in the week one day temps will drop for a day and the go up again to around 25C). so good for the garden, only thing a bit less good is that we will have no rain, so we will have to water the garden every day or two.
Never mind too much. Oh our tomatoe plants are starting to have some blssoms, so may be later we even will have some own grown tomatoes. We'll see how big the crop will be hahaha.
Have a wonderful day and week ahead.

Another week passed by in a "woosh"

Goodafternoon everybody!

Today we started out really well with the weather. Full sunshine and temperature around 26-28C! At the moment it seems as if some clouds come over every now and then. Perhaps we might have some thunder and lightning this evening.
Last Tuesday and Wednesday were the minor days of the week, with sme lower temperatures, but then they got higher again to one really warm day today.
Tomorrow will be around 10 degrees lower(figure that!) then all will go up again to around 22C.
weather is behaving a bit strange lately. It might be so, because of the change of climat that is going on slowly.

Not much happened here. We still have no government and I don;t think it will be there soon. The first 4 parties are talking to eachother again to perhaps form a coalition and then cabinet, but there are big differences between them, so I am not certain at all that it will succeed.

Our garden is getting more and more flowers and I have made a few photos. We also have our parakeets visiting us again, as I told before, but one day last week we had about 8-10 sitting on the two rosebows!
I know attach some food(mostly parts of apples)also on the neirest rosebow and if we sit still and quiet they come there too.
I made one photo but just as I clicked, a few flew off, so I only have two of them on the photo.
And have a photo of a pelargonium, which has a little story.
Two or three weeks ago  was coming home from shopping and there was a big container with all kind of rubbish like stones, wood and such(someone was stripping a house I guess). But on top I saw a pot with a pelargonium in it, the flowers gone or brown, but the leaves still looking quite good and fresh. So I took it home, gave it a little "haircut"(well, removed all the dead flower heads and so) and gave it into jan's care. He pampered the plant, watered it, and perhaps even talked to it, but it has result! It started to flower again and looks real healthy. We both had such fun and a big smile about it.
Then

the sweet peas are starting to flower.
And we have quite some strawberries. Well, we will not fill bowls full with them, but we have lots more than last year. We have two post and next year I hope the third pot will flower also.

Now i think I will end this post and take advantage of the sunshine while it is still there. Later in the afternoon the clouds and thunder may come near.
I have a kit for you, I am quite confident I didn;t post it before. It is named "In Wonderland" and is based on Alice in Wonderland. Hope you can use it.
Now Jan is leaving for his volunteerwork(he is leaving a bit earlier because he is going to walk to it and will come home by tram).
I already made dinner for this evening, so  can take it easy for now. Better too, because my back is not behaving well. Somehow i think I made a wrong move or so and then it takes a few days to get sound again. Oh well, age comes with some trouble, although not to everyone. I saw on tv a little film of a lady of 91 years, still doing an excersize on the bar, and she also does other forms of gymnastic if I heard well. Gosh, only watching her made me feel my back, all my other muscles and whatever more sour!!!LOL
I have a two links for you, just watch them!

Happy Sunday to all!

Goodafternoon everybody!

Just a few words about the terrible news of London. Just happened that awefulness of Manchester and now London again.Whenever will it stop?
Best we can do from a distance is to keep all victims and families in our thoughts and prayers and not give in into fear for going out.
We just cannot afford that fear will be the winner and therefore the ruthless people that commit those attacks.!

I had a pretty good week I can say. we had some good weather which always helps to feel much better. and this week my friend Heidi and I finally found a moment in her busy schedule so  could visit her in her new appartment. and it is a very pretty one with a lovely view over the city from her balcony. She is on the 10th floor so you can imagine the view.
She even has some greenery around and to look onto to. The appartment is very light and all rooms are pretty square, which is handy. She has a nice sized kitchen, not really big, but room enough in it to have a little table and chairs to have e.g. breakfast.
It is a bit further away then her former house, I think I can be there now within 25 minutes walking(to the other one just 10-2 minutes). But if I want to I can take the tram and then I just have to walk for another perhaps 4 minutes.

My garden is getting greener and more colorful by the week now.
I've made some photos of it this week.
Partly overview from the patio.

Brodski finding some shade for a moment. Often he lies on the little table between the two chairs!

 Some lovely lillies

Our little pond and if you look well, you see one or may be two of its lodgers. I counted 5 frogs at the most.

Part of the potting table, on the left ou can see two of the tomatoeplants. I splitted them up, so I have 3 more pots!
On the right you see a strawberry, and Jan already had two strawberries of it, hahaha.

Here s species of perrenial geranium. I took last year a little cutting of it, with luckily some roots on it. And i am happy it found its place and blooms now. Still yet small, but never mind, it will grow.

I also did some designing. Slowly some inspiration is coming back. But with the nice weather, well,  like to sit in the garden if it is not too hot.
And when it is really nice, till even in the evening, like last Friday, I did sit a while there just before 19.00 o'clock, just to catch the last ray of sunlight and waiting for Jan to come home,  suddenly had about 8 parakeets on the rosebow near my chair. So I sat there very quiet and watched them eating their peanuts and parts of apple I hang out for them. I had such a good time!

Forecast says that in the middle of the week temperatures will suddenly drop again to around 17 C(big difference with last week, when we had days of 28C and today even 21 C), but there is good hope that by the end of the week temps will go up again to around 22C.
I hate that rolling coasting weather, wish it could stay steady for some months at nice temps, but that is only wishfull thinking. Oh well, let's be happy with what we had already and every day with sunshine and some rain at night and temps of 22-25C. That already is very good for our region!
Time to finish this post. I want to change the bedsheets and then I probably will keep it quiet for the rest of the day. May be a quick hoovering and that will be all  already was a busy bee on Friday, I even did the windows outside at the fron of the house. Pfffff, that is something LOL!
Oh, did i mention I have another tiny little garden started??
At our street we have every few meters a tree standing, and around it there is a round with only soil;sand with sometimes weeds growing there.
I thought we could make it look nicer, so I planted a few cutlings  still had there, I have there now a Nasturtium, some mint, another plants I don;t know the name of, and a groundcover plant. It is nothing at the moment, but I will try to make it look nicer and with more bloom and then see how long it will stay there. If I have result, it will certainly look nice under the tree. And perhaps some people will do the same at the tree standing in front of their house, who knows?? LOL.

Good, I think you should have the clusters of Arlene  from the There's a little smile kit.
Wishing you a terrible good week,  stay safe and healthy!

Yeah, yippee, we have spring/summer time!

Goodafternoon everybody!

Yes. we finally have some real spring and summer time here. More summer than other, and I don;t mind it at all. Of course we will have to get used to the rather high temperatures, but oh, I will gladly do so LOL!
Temperatures wriggle between 21-30C! And I really love the days when it is around 25-27C, with just a little breeze. We will see for how long it will last, but it seems that next week we still will have lovely weather.

Last Monday  had to go to an appointment of social security benefit department.  I had the letter with invitation already twoo weeks ahead.
It said it was a "group-meeting" for people that get social benefits payment and had to do some volunteerwork. Had to fill in a large form and bring it with me.
Well, you know me, I started to worry already, before I knew what it was really about. If the city council decided I wasn;t doing my bit, they could pay less benefit as sort of punishment. And as it is already minimum, we couldn;t afford it to happen. So do you understand my concern?Of course I could explain why I didn;t do volunteerwork at the moment. With all the health issues I had in rather short time  just couldn't.
To cut it a bit short, I went there early in the morning, I was one of the first to arrive, so one of the ladies that would do the meeting called me to her. She asked my named, ticked it of the list she had, then asked me my age(she thought i was 63, so I corrected her saying I was already 64 ). And now the laughing bit comes!
She said I wasn't supposed to receive the invitation at all! Imagine my amazement!!!! Then I still explained her a bit about the health issues, also said my husband did do every week volunteerwork, still gave her the form I filled in.
So then I asked, that if i wasn;t supposed to be there, the whole thing wouldn;t effect the benefit. She said: "no, not at all".
I asked it again, to be sure(hahahah),and then asked her if  could leave then, because i wasn't supposed to be there at all. And yes, no problem.
So after 15 minutes I was outside again, and also feeling very relieved!
Now just crossing fingers that after all this, I will not get another letter after some weeks about this. You never now with government and city council departements!!

Good, that was out of the way.
Now I could really enjoy the good weather and be at times in the garden and see eveything grow and starting to blossom.
Bought myself for a really low price another Clematis. I just wanted another one for already such a long time, and now there was the opportunity to buy one for only € 3,00. I don;t know if it will blossom already this year, it's oncwe that should flower in about May-June-July.
But if not, it could settle itself well and do the trick next year. I planted it with the other Clematis I have at the climbing bow. That one is lilac of colour, but flowering in about July-August, and the new one should have large deep purple flowers.
My rose at the other side of the bow is flowering extremely well.
I should take a ohoto of it, okay, I will try to do so and post it next time I make a post.
We also have our frogs back in the tiny little pond and we also have regular visits again of some of the parakeets. So wildlife is doing allright in the garden too.
also had to repot my tomatoes, they became too big for the pot they were in.
Now I have 4 bit pots with tomatoe plants. Hopefully they will give me some tomatoes later this year!

We slowly get to used to the new remote control and modem for the tv, ROFL!. When you first get it, it all seems so difficult and complicated and once you take it slow and try to understand it one thing at a time it suddenly is sooo much easier. So here it proves, you can get used to things very quickly. Must be honest, we didn'yet try out all the possibilities yet, but the most common ones are in control, I guess.
Is it all better than the old one? In general I guess the answer has to be  a"yes", almost all channels are send out in HD(high-definition), and according to Jan the screenpicture is sharper and better.
What is nice is that we can record 4 programs at same time if we want to. But we cannot burn it to a disc anymore, as far as we know. Perhaps we can put it on an USB stick first and then burn it to a disc via the computer?  No idea, but for now it isn't all that important. and to be honest, how often do you rewatch a  film or serie on dvd?
Not very often, at least we don;t, there isn;t just enough time for it LOL.

Well, as you can imagine I didn;t do much of designing this week, again. But I have a little kit for you, named it There's a Little Smile.
Next week I will have the clusters for you from Arlene.
The sun is calling out to me, so I think I will sit a moment in the garden, take in some vitamins by sitting in the sun( not too long otherwise it will be too hot, just perhaps 15 minutes and then the shade of the parasol will feel good.
Have a wonderful day and week.

tv channel problems.

Goodafternoon everybody!

It was kind of strange week, LOL. The week before this past one, suddenly several tv channels disappeared. From some of them we still had only sound, from others nothing at all, just black.
So after a day I called the company we have cable and modem from, explained. They told me it probably was due to our modem, that was a very old one . So I had to have a new modem(I already planned to order one a long time, but it never came to it, also could cost me some money). But now I could receive on free of charge and then I could receive the whole package of channels we had a contract for.
Okay, fine, send it. The guy on the telephone was really nice, ordered all and such and I had the receiver / modem within two days. Quick!
Jan tried to connect it and install it, but had no luck(you know, there is an instruction booklet, but you always miss some instructions, it seems). So I called again explained and the lady on the phone was also very helpful, I could order an installer, free of charge, only could take a few days for an appointment. Never mind, we could do for another few days without our extra channels. At the same time she checked our contract and it seemed the first guy changed ours into one less extended. Oh boy. But..... the lady changed it back to the good one, only it could take a few days before it was connected.
Never mind that, I already was glad all was brought back to how it was,and she even gave us a reduction on the contract price for that month bcause of their fault. Nice.
Last Tuesday the installer came in the afternoon, did his job, all worked, even he put on a new connection plug somewhere and we had the new modem. But now to learn how to operate it, LOL. It has all kind of possibilities, we can record up to 4 programs at the time per day, we have replay(you can look back at programs already broadcasted, to 15 days back) and lots more things. In short, we are, till now, quite happy with it. Still learning how to use all possibilities(I believe we even have in our contract a program we can watch a lot of movies/series for free, but we didn;t try it out yet).
I made a booklet of our own, with explenation of several things how to do that, so to say our own instruction booklet.
Still adding to it, hahahaha.
But  really have to say, that I was helped very nice and frinedly at the customersservice on the phone.
lets hope now, that we can watch our tv and channels for a long time again without problems, or having to change again a modem.
So our week was pretty much occupied by this(all that calling and such and I hate to make a lot of phonecalls, really.)

We had a few really nice days with high temperatures, then a drop down from about 8-10 degrees again and now the temperatures are creeping up again, next week around 20-25C, mat be even more!. Nice. That's how  like it.

I see that at the moment the sun is shining again, so perhaps it is wise to go into the garden for a moment, look around, make a little stroll and then I will prepare dinner for this evening already. I like to do it the days an is going to his volunteer work. I usually take mine around 17.30, and Jan takes his later(he usually comes home around 19.00-19.15 and then first takes a nap till around 20.30 and then takes his dinner).
Sometimes  have the same dinner as Jan, but often I take something else(like spaghetti or other pasta, which isn;t a favourite of Jan)and make something different for Jan.
But today we will eat the same, hahaha. I've cooked some special rice, which I can frie, it is cooling down now. Has to be cool before you frie it.And  make some kind of minced meat kebabs to go with it.
That ready I only have to put it in the oven later for a moment to warm it up.
I promised you last week, if I have good memory, the clusters for the minikit April. Not a big download this time, but next week I think I have a kit for you again. And I almost finished another one, so I am not in grand speed of designing, but at least I am producing again(okay, not a lot, but as long as it goes steady and forward I am already happy).

You have a wonderful day and week, thanks for visiting, stay safe and happy and healthy!

Why do I get winded up so easily ???

Goodafternoon everybody!

Weather is a bit unsteady yet, some good days with good temperatures of around 19-20C, then down again to 15-16C again and so on. Had some rain too, like yesterdays and today there will be a few showers too. That is good for all the gardens, they like a bit of rain and is necessary.
I had some "lower"days this week, had some stomach trouble and that isn;t a nice feeling. Probably part of it my own fault. I get winded up soo easily the last year or so by things that aren;t always so important or urgent. put to that some things that are more important and voilà, Kyra is all nervous and so.
I have the feeling I am walking tip-toe and as soon as something happens I have to deal with, well, okay, one thing I can handle, but if there are two or three issues, whatever they are(but specially with council, social security and that sort of thing) .....BANG..... my nerves seem to get into knots or so and it is not a good thing for me. It plays on my stomach at first and also can be no good for my epilepsie.
Together with the fact I already didn;t feel well the last few months, not depressive, but without energy and kid of low at times, hmmm, that isn;t a good thing for someone's health.
I will not get into specifics about all things, but I so long for long periods of rest and "boring life", and then I already will feel lots better, it all plays on the body(and mind too)
But  I will still have to learn to relativize (is that a good word?)things a lot more, I guess.

Good, better get on to some nicer things, what do you think?
yesterday we watched the Eurovision Songcontest. There were a few good songs, The ones from The Netherlands was more than just good, but they didn;t come further then the 11th place. song was "Light and Shadows"by O'gene, three sisters with very good voices!
But the winner was the song from Portugal and it was such a beautiful song. By far the best one. Very small song, very intimate, just beautiful. You even don;t have to understand the texte(he sung in Portugese) to imagine what it is about.
First time  heard the song  watched the singer too, second time I closed my eyes and just listened. And it seemed even more beautiful.
Here a link for the song, there is more to know about him, you just have to google a little bit.(link I posted wan;t good, I changed today, hope it is a better one)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ymFVfzu-2mw

I feel I have to take something to eat now, just a little sandwich and I will have a good-filled bowl of soup this evening.
There is just a little download for you today, a minikit for April, I will give you the clusters next time(have to make previes and upload them and so). Hope you don't mind too much.
Have a wonderful day and also week ahead and take care of yourself(and I will try to do the same, hahaha).

Part two of the Steampunk kit

Goodafternoon everybody!

It is looking grey outside, perhaps later there might be a glimpse of the sun but not for sure.
Temperatures are still low for the time of year, only yesterday we had a nice day, with suddenly temps of about 17-18C. Pity it only lasted one day. But there is light at the end of the tunnel LOL.
This week still will be on the low side but by Thursday or so temperatures should go up and in the next weekend we could have around 20C!!!! WOW. If then that could last for a longer time and even creep up slowly a few degress here would be sitting a happy camper!

It was a rather qiet week, apart from a letter from social security asking some information about the tiny little pension I am receiving. I will not go into detail, but it was rather exhausting and got awefully crabby(for one letter was dated 1st of May and I should return information before 1st of May, hey!!!). But after some phonecalls also to the pensionpayer and back to social security all should be solved, and I have time till somewhere in June. Still those things aren't good for your health, those kind of letters first wind you up, give you almost a heart attack, then you have to spend lots of time on phonecalls and this all for what?
Better not talk about it anymore, I feel I get crabby again LOL!

Although the weather wasn't all too good, I did go one day to the market one day, we could do with some fruit and a bit of veggies too.
What did  I came back with?  A little pumpkin, some paprika's, grapes(they are tasting so sweet)oh, a little bit of cheese, yes, turnip cabbage (I often make them as little dice, cooked, then put in some sour cream and little dots of fried bacon).
I think I will make tomorrow a dish of diced pumpkin, sliced paprika, some mushrooms, diced potatoes and chorizo all together in the oven. Should taste good and will fill the stomach.

Then I had to make a year-control appointment with my neurologists(it's 5 minutes being there but she wants to see me once a year, okay). Bit difficult this year, they couldn;t find my neurologist on the list. To cut it short, she is doing something else so  will have a new one, who takes over her patients. Not a big deal for me, hope the new one will have my file and will not spend a long time on asking all kind of questions again and such. It is going good at the moment with my epilepsia, almost no trouble, so no need of tests or whatever I should think.

Jan is also back to his volunteerwork. He still has trouble with his back, but he insisted on going there again after being home for several weeks. Well, he just has to take it very easy there and has to be careful in his moves too. But although he is kind of tired when he comes home, he also is happy to be there again. And I think the people and staff too, because he runs the department well during dinner time(people get sandwiches in the evening, sometimes accompanied by some soup), but he knows almost by heart what everybody eats and how much and he eeven manages to let some people eat a bit more(and they often need some extra). n this work he is quite an organizer, I think.

Although I have to be still careful, I couldn;t resist doing a bit of work in the garden yesterday while it was such nice weather. As there normally isn't expected anymore nightfrost here at the coast, I planted my dahliabulbs. Some didn't live through winter, perhaps they were too old or something, but some already had some sprouts coming out, so  hope to see some lovely flowers later this year.
Oh and at the front of our house at the edge of the sidewalk, every few meters we have a tree standing. Around the base there is just some soil and sand. So I planted yesterday a few cutlings  made last year from some plants. We will see if they thrive and if they will have a long life or not. But it will be funny to follow and hopefully by next year there will be some lovely small plants flowering at the base of the small tree!

I think I rambled long enough now so it is time for the second part of the Steampunk kit and also the clusters made by Arlene.
May be next week or just a week later I will have a next minikit for you, for the month of April. And I am busy on making the one for May. Yes, slowly I am back into designing, although not fanaticly yet, hahaha. But it is a start again.
All that is left now for me to do is wishing you all a wonderful day and week ahead and thanks for coming by!

Had a bit of "misfortune"last week.

Goodafternoon everybody!

I actually planned to post yesterday already, but after reading some blogs and answering mails, I just had to quite because my back hurt.
Last week Wednesday afternoon  was all happy and sound till i had to change a bag of the bin in the kitchen. Probably made a wrong move or so and in a second a muscle said "PING" and it wasn;t pleasant.
Sometimes is goes away after some minutes but this one wanted to stay. So trouble moving and sitting, oh boy, I wasn;t happy.
And it just happened before our Kingsday (on Thursday) and we wanted to go to one or two fairs. No way with that back. D........d!
I still have trouble but every day it is going somewhat better, so i guess i just have to kind of sit it out. You should see Jan and me at the moment. Jan is recovering also from some real bad back trouble, not yet over, but already better and now I have it too. Jan has it on the left at the moment and mine is on the right, so together we have still two halves that work rather well.

Kingsday this year was a bit special, because our king became 50 years old.
He still looks fine and his wife our queen Maxima is still a beautiful women. And their 3 daughters are getting older too, of course. If you want to read a bit more of it here is a link, where you could also sea/hear an interview with our King, very openharted.
 http://www.dutchnews.nl/news/archives/2017/04/kings-day-festivities-pass-off-without-problems-kings-interview-praised/

Weather here is still a bit on and off. Igt is getting somewhat warmer, but not to be jumping of joy about it LOL.
So sometimes when there is some sun and not too much wind, it is nice to be in the garden for a moment, but that's all.
I made a few photos, there's isn;t yet all too much to take pictures of. But I have one of the little azalea I have, I just LOVE that color!
And  have a photo of the potting table Heidi gave us when she moved to her new house(she has no room for it on her balcony). And on it you can see a part of our seedlings. ou can almost see them grow now every day a bit. still for some there's still a long way to go to come to the point of blooming, as e.g. our tomatoe plants. We will see if we will have tomatoes this year, I am in some doubt, but nature always surprises you. So we'll see and wait.

Okay, it is about time I quite, because I must give my back a bit of rest and sit in another position.
I have a first part of a kit for you, it becamse a bit "heavy"so  split it in two. Next post, I hope it will be coming weekend again, you will have the rest of it.
This time it is a steampunk kit. I give you a preview of the papers and of the whole kit. Have fun with it.
You have a fantastic week, take care of yourself and your loved ones!

Could do with real spring!

Goodafternoon everybody!

I think it will be a quick post. I just finished reading some blogs and it always takes more time than you think.
Early this week, think it was Tuesday and Wednesday I suddenly had an attack of energy from somewhere, and  managed to do during those days a vacuum cleaning of all the house, some laundry, grocerie shopping, dusting, of course cooking, some little garden work, oh yes, changing bedsheets, also ironing, and even some start of designing on the computer again. Wow!
Well, after that eruption(hahaha) I took it a little bit easier the next days.
Still I am glad there are longer periods of energy and such arriving.
It was about time.
Pity the weather is letting us down a bit. Although we have periods with sunshine, the temperature is really cold for the time of year and for the next days it isn;t going to improve.
We should have normally around 15C, but we just reach around 10C.
Perhaps the month of May will offer us some really lovely weather. We can always hope for it, isn;t it?

Later this week we will have our "King's Day", our King will be 50 years old already this year. As usual he will celebrate the birthday in a town(each year it is another one)with some festivities organized.
May be he and the family will be lucky to have at the least dry weather, and perhaps some sunshine, although it still wil be cold.
If the weather isn;t too bad, I think Jan and I will visit one or two fairs(there are that day lots of them).
It is always fun to see what stuff people offer for very little money.
It are always things they don;t need anymore so it is second hand, but you can find great things at times.

Time really flies sometimes, and my stomach say to me I need to take a sandwich( I am already a bit late for that in the afternoon) so I better have a bite now.
I do have a mini kit for you,  know it is late, should have posted it last month! Well, I have started on a mini kit for April, cannot say when it will be finished, but it is coming your way later.
Have a wonderful Sunday and great week to come, thanks for keeping on visiting my blog!

Happy Easter to all!

Goodafternoon everybody!

I hope my internet will keep on working. t is going on and off today, it makes me crazy.!!!
Well, my nice of rance is gone again. She and her husband came on Wednesday and already left Friday afternoon. (I thought they were leaving Saturday, but they only could book the airbnb till Friday).
They didn;t sleep here, because  couldn;t offer them a real comfy place to sleep, so they booked an airbnb, which was in the nieghbourhood and they had a comfy little appartment even.
But they were here for lunch and I prepared dinner too, so we still had enough time together.
Last Tuesday I was busy all day in the kitchen already preparing dinner for the next two days. So  didn't have to spend too much time cooking at the times they were here. I could warm it up either on the stove or in the oven, one day only had to boil the potatoes and the other day I only had to make the salad.
It has been for a long time we didn't meet. ast time was already 10 years ago! Yes, then you notcie that time flies!
You know everybody gets older but somehow it also doesn't seem important and not really reality. But I really didn;t realize my niece and her husband too, already were 69 years old!! Funny and strange to realize that.
One afternoon I went on a little walk with them, the other afternoon they went to an interesting museum, the Escher museum and they had a good time there.(if you are interested in art look up the Escher museum on Google and you will see the kind of art this Dutch artist made. Really special and something different). Pity that Jan had very much trouble with his back, just this week. Poor guy couldn;t move very easily and had to take some more of his painkillers than he usually does. I think it will take some more days for him to feel really better again.
Yes, really was a pity, otherwise we would have been able to do some moore with them, but well, it just couldn't.
It was at times a bit difficult to have conversation in French for me, you know. Understanding it was not a problem, but speaking it again, pffffff, not easy anymore. But I managed somehow. And then also had to translate to Jan and back to them too, because jan doesn;t spek French.
Still all together we had a wonderful time and it was good to have met again. Both are really wonderful and sweet people, I love them dearly.

Also pity weather wasn't really good. It was cold and only sometimes we had a bit of sun, so it was n o garden time.
Also now weather isn't really nice. Well, we have at times a bit of sunshine, but temps are letting us down at the moment. Just around 10C, and later this week we even might have some nightfrost again!
But when those days are over, I really hope temperature will rise again, because our seedlings are growing stedily, but they also need some warmth to really devellop well and Jan and I and also Brodski could do too with some warmth LOL!

I am sure  forgot to tell some things of the last week, but I will finish now, because I already did a lot of blogreading to catch up and at least made a blogpost so you know I am still around and doing rather well, I can say.
Now I only will have to find somewhere more creativity again and start doing some designing and such.
Glad i had some "stock"hanging around, hahaha, so I can offer you a kit today.
Named Roses speak in Silence, and  think it is a good kit for Spring and summertime and also for nostalgic scrapping.
I give you preview of the kit and the papers too.
Have a lovely Easter weekend!

After a long silence a little post from me again

Goodmorning everybody!

Well, it is just around midday, but never mind.
What to tell you?  am going better and better, although real spirit to spend long time at the computer doing either designing or posting or even mailing  isn;t really there.
But I am in as much full swing as I can at the moment preparing for the visit of my nice next week.
I already have done most of the grocerie shoping and such things, noow these coming days I will have to spend on getting the house more or less ready( you know, vacuum cleaning, dusting, cleaning up and such). It will be ready when she arrives next Wednesday around noon.
Pity it probably will not be really good weather, temperatures will only be around 11 C, even some rain is expected, so it will not really be garden-time.
Such a shame, because slowly the garden is awakening and it is going quick. I have planted out already quite some seedlings and some of the bulbs are starting to come too.
As i am kind of busy now preparing for my niece's visit, I didn't see much of Heidi. She moved to her new house last weekend.
On Saturday I had the doggies with me, so that they had their hands free.
And  made some photos of them.

The darker one (and the smaller) is the oldest, Sam. The other is Tom.
They are sweet.

I hope to visit Heidi in her new house after Alika(my niece) left again, and then we could have finally again a good chat.
Heidi has no garden at her new house, she has an appartment somewhere high, but has a little balcony. i wonder if she will not miss her garden.

That's about it folks, life is going on here and energy and spirit are coming back, now all we need is some long time of real warm temperatures and sunshine, to be able to sit in the garden and work a bit in it too and that will certainly do great things for the body and mind!
For now i do have a kit for you and clusters from Arlene.
Take care of yourself, I'll be back some day again, better i make no promises LOL!

Springweather coming soon

Goodday to all!

Took some time to actually sit and start a new post but here I am.
It is going upwards with me, may it be slowly, but steady and energy is coming back too in little portions.
I am not ready yet to post every few days or even every week, the break I have with computering is actually fine with me for now. Oh, I do check my mails every couple of days, and sometimes do a little game, or check something out on internet, but I am not having the urge yet to get back to designing. Don;t know why to be honest, because it gave me lots of pleasure. Well, I will get back to it some day, I guess, but it may be not in the quantity I produced before. Who knows, I'll let it come as it does and we'll see.

Spring is really around the corner here.  Last week we already had temperatures around 10-14 C, although the nights still were rather cold, but they promised us that next week there will be days with sunshine and temperatures that may reach 18C!!! Now that is good news.
All the seeds Jan put in little pots are doing quite good. Some of them still have to sprout, but others are growing real fast.
So yesterday I already put some of the bigger ones in several pots and some in the garden soil and now crossing fingers they will bloom later on.

Next two weeks I will have to put some more effort in "spring-cleaning", not that I will jump into it as mad, but  I have to do it more thourough, want to have things in order when my niece comes to us.
I do hope that the nice spring weather will still be there, it would be nice to be able to sit for a moment in the garden or take a little walk or trip, just because it is lovely weather, you know.

Cannot chat all too long now, because I have to go to my friend Heidi's house to walk the doggies. She and the family are moving house shortly and are busy in their new house today again. It isn;t too far from us either, although it takes some more time to get there, so it will be harder to go there sometimes to take the doggies for a walk.
But we already tried once or twice to leave them at daytime with us and that went rather well. So if necessary, they can bring the doggies and we take care of them and their hands will be free. Okay, our cat isn;t all too pleased with it, but he can stay in the garden if he wants. And he can go into and out of the kitchen, cause the doggies just stay in the room and cannot open the door of the room.
So Brodski always can have something to eat if he wants.
First time the doggies were here, in the late afternoon Heidi came to fetch them and then after a while Brodski came into the house again. But he refused to come into the room and that lasted for a couple of days! Next time he dared to come into the room the same evening, the doggies stayed for a few hours. WOW, what a HERO! LOL.

Last week we had elections for a new government. Well, parties were chosen and out of them will have to be formed a government. It will be rather difficult, because none of them has a majority. So it will be necessary to have a coalition of several parties, probably 4. difficult, because they have different programs and ideas and will have to come to some agreement. We will see how long it will last until we will have a new government.
There were as always lots of ideas and promises, but you will always have to compromise if you want to work together, so let's see what will be achieved in the end!

Good, now I will have to end, soon will have to go to the dogs.
I do have a kit and clusters from arlene too. It is named "Quiet Moments". Hope you can use it for some lovely layouts.
Have a wonderful day and week ahead, and till next time!

Still round, just taking slow on computering

Goodmorning everybody!

I am still around, but just do very little on the computer.
Thought however it was about time to make a little update.
Not much happening here in the house and life, which is all okay with me for now.
just trying to get back some new energy, which seems to be a hard thing. It might be a bit the time of year,  just have no idea really. But don;t worry too much, I am doing fine and doing better in little steps.
Talking of time of the year, we have some nicer weather lately, even sometimes the sun comes out for a bit and you see that nature is awakening.
Jan already did a lot in the garden, mostly pruning and cleaning up, it all looks about ready for the new season. He also has made a lot of little pots with seeds in it, now just hoping they will come to nice plants with a lot of flowers!
I got a mail lately from my niece in France, that she wanted to visit us for a few days, and see if we could swap some documents and photos of our families and that mostly of my mother's side of course.
It will be lovely to see her again after such a long time, I just hope my French will still be good enough to talk with her and her husband. Must say the French is rusty with almost no practise.
I already told her, that I gladly will give her already some albums with photos and such to take with her and give it later to her children.
With her children getting older, they get more curious about their roots.
And I am glad I can leave those things somewhere where they will be safe and a little appreciated.
My niece will come next month, just a few days before Easter, so I guess I will have to shake myself well and do some serious cleaning here, to have it all in good order when they come.
Then I will have to think about the things I can make for dinner. They are very easy people, but I want it to be nice and tasty of course.
So  will be busy coming time with that, apart from the usual things.

This is about it for now, of course i can ramble a lot more about some things, but that will be for a next time.
To compensate you again for the long silence I have a kit and some clusters for you.
Be happy and take good care of yourselves.
